Prom Road Chardonnay

Waratah Hills are thrilled to have launched a new called Prom Road. Our new label Prom Road allows us to continue to bring you the best of South Gippsland.

Chardonnay 2011
The fruit from this wine comes from a lovely north-facing site over looking Westernport bay. It was picked at relatively low sugar levels with excellent natural acidity and flavour. The wine was tank fermented and left on lees for 7 months to build complexity. It displays nectarine and grapefruit flavours and a beautiful line of citrus acid to finish.

Mike wrote: "Bright, vital aromas that run somewhere between whiteorchard fruits and citrus with a hint of oatmeal and grassy complexity. Lovely, frisky entry that doubles up in the palate – lemony tang, more stone fruits and a lilt of grapefruit and green apple acidity to close. Massively drinkable yet piques interest for fine detail and lacy complexity. Doesn’t try too hard; just rewards youthful drinking. I’m up for it." Rated: 92 points.
