2012 Newsletter #4
The holiday season is almost over and we have enjoyed hosting many regulars and newcomers to the Waratah Hills cellar door.
We enjoyed showing our wines at the Stony Creek races early in January and at a successful South Gippsland Festival of Wine event at the award winning Archies on the Creek restaurant. Our 2010 Waratah Hills Pinot Noir and Chardonnay continue to be well received and the feedback on our new Prom Road Chardonnay, Pinot Rosé and a Sparkling Chardonnay/Pinot has been beyond all expectations.
Weather conditions in the lead-up to vintage have been next to perfect as we prepare to net the vineyard in readiness for a bumper 2012 vintage. The vineyard has never looked better and we expect to be picking by mid-March.
As ever
Judy, Neil and Megan Travers

The top end of town
You can now enjoy a glass of Waratah Hills 2009 Pinot Noir in Melbourne at the very popular Siglo Bar. Overlooking Parliament House with the spire of St Patrick’s Cathedral in the background Siglo is about as good as a bar gets. This rooftop terrace right next door to the Princess Theatre, offers quality and attentive service as well as great heating (very important at this time of year). So for a late night supper accompanied by a Waratah Hills Pinot there is no better hideaway than Siglo Bar (Level 2, 161 Spring Street, Melbourne 03 9654 6651). We are also delighted to announce that the Toorak Cellars and Wine Bar (18 Beatty Ave Armadale 03 9822 2070) as a new stockist of the Waratah Hills 09 Pino.

We would like to thank everyone that supported the first Waratah Hills winemaker’s dinner at Moo’s in Meenyian.
On a very cold June, Friday night in South Gippsland, we gathered at Moo’s to talk about our wine and the emergence of the region. A great menu designed to compliment the Waratah Hills 2009 vintage was pulled together by Marty Thomas and his team, while winemaker Marcus Satchell discussed the characteristics of the Waratah Hills wines
